Lou's Testimonial:

My name is Lou. I am 16 years old. I am currently in 11th grade (1ère) in a Parisian high school. I went to Bray with Dana, near Dublin. I wanted to go to an English-speaking country to practice English differently than at school because it is by living in a country that you really learn the language... I admit that Ireland was not the country I thought of first but it turns out that Dana is Irish and agreed to host me for two weeks in her hometown, Bray. So I said to myself "why not?". That's how in 2014 I left for two weeks in August to discover Ireland. I was super well received by Dana's family, the Irish are warm and benevolent. Against all expectations, the weather was nice for almost the entire duration of my stay!

During these two weeks, we visited Bray and its surroundings, especially the hill overlooking the city. The view from the top was really beautiful but it was cold! I was also able to swim in the sea but I quickly got out of the water: even in the middle of summer it is not very warm. I had the chance to visit Dublin, the capital, which is not very far from Bray. We boarded a tourist bus built like a Viking ship, it was really very funny. Dublin is really a superb city with parks and beautiful architecture.

Irish gastronomy also seduced me (porridge, fish and chips, baked beans, big ice creams on the beach). The Irish people I met were all really kind, welcoming and open-minded. The Irish accent, contrary to what one might think, is not that complicated to understand, I managed to understand the majority of what was said to me! This stay helped me improve my English. It allowed me to discover a magnificent country, rainy but warm. Plus, Dana was really a great guide, explaining and telling me the history of her city. I really liked these two Irish weeks and I would do it again without hesitation.
